S. Jaishankar’s Strong Statement on Ceasefire with Pakistan: ‘We Achieved Our Goals by Dismantling Terrorist Infrastructure

India’s Foreign Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, has made a significant statement regarding the ceasefire and military actions between India and Pakistan. He stated that India has successfully achieved its goals by dismantling the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. He added that since key objectives had been accomplished, India believed it was the right decision to move forward, especially since Pakistan had been clearly informed at the beginning of the operation that India was targeting terrorist infrastructure and not the military. He emphasized that Pakistan’s military had the option to stay aside and not intervene, but it chose not to follow that advice.

Targeting Pakistan, Jaishankar mentioned, “Pakistan chose not to heed this good advice and suffered significant losses by the morning of May 10.” He pointed out that satellite images clearly showed the extent of damage India inflicted versus the minimal damage Pakistan incurred, revealing who was really interested in halting the fire.

Jaishankar further emphasized that India’s relationship with Pakistan remains entirely bilateral, reflecting a longstanding national consensus that has not changed. He reiterated that India’s Prime Minister had made it clear that discussions with Pakistan will only be focused on terrorism. He stated that Pakistan has a list of terrorists that need to be handed over, and they must shut down the terrorist infrastructure. “They know what needs to be done,” he added.

Dr. Jaishankar also highlighted the significant international support India received, referencing a United Nations Security Council proposal demanding accountability for the perpetrators. He pointed out that Pakistan was held accountable for its actions through Operation Sindoor on May 7.
