Operation Sindoor Echoes Across Pakistan: PM Shehbaz Sharif Confirms Strikes, Revealing India’s Strategic Precision

India’s Operation Sindoor has sent shockwaves through Pakistan’s military and political establishments, highlighting the Indian Armed Forces’ unparalleled precision and strategic acumen. The magnitude of the operation reportedly stunned Pakistan’s leadership, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif publicly acknowledging that India had struck the highly fortified Nur Khan Airbase.

In a statement that has since gone viral on social media, Sharif disclosed that Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir called him around 2:30 AM on May 10 to inform him of the missile strikes. Speaking at a public event at the Pakistan Monument, Sharif admitted that Indian ballistic missiles had hit the Nur Khan facility and other locations, adding that the Pakistani Air Force responded using locally produced technology and Chinese fighter jets. He confirmed that Indian missiles successfully reached their targets.

BJP’s National IT Cell Head Amit Malviya shared the clip on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), calling it proof of the bravery and precision behind Operation Sindoor. “Keep this in mind — the Prime Minister of Pakistan was woken up in the middle of the night with news of Indian airstrikes deep inside their territory,” Malviya wrote.

Nur Khan Airbase: A Strategic Military Hub

Nur Khan Airbase — formerly known as PAF Station Chaklala — is located in Chaklala, a suburb of Rawalpindi in Pakistan’s Punjab province. Initially built by the British Royal Air Force during the colonial era, it played a key role in World War II, including hosting parachute training operations for Allied forces. In recent decades, it evolved into a vital logistics and transport hub for the Pakistan Air Force.

Until a few years ago, the now-defunct Benazir Bhutto International Airport operated from the same site, before it was replaced by the new Islamabad International Airport. The Indian strike on such a crucial facility marks a significant strategic blow, effectively limiting Pakistan’s capacity to launch quick-response military operations.

Airstrikes Under Operation Sindoor: A Devastating Precision Offensive

Reports indicate that the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out precision strikes on approximately 11 Pakistani airbases, targeting runways, radar stations, aircraft hangars, and command centers. Satellite imagery revealed widespread damage: craters on runways, destroyed logistics vehicles, and debris across military zones.

What makes the operation even more remarkable is its speed and coordination. Within just 23 minutes, India launched a volley of missiles, leaving Pakistan scrambling to assess the full extent of the damage.

A Display of Strategic Brilliance and Military Confidence

Operation Sindoor was more than a tactical retaliation — it was a bold assertion of India’s growing military capabilities and a clear breach through Pakistan’s defense shield. The operation not only demonstrated India’s ability to conduct precise, large-scale strikes but also deeply unsettled Pakistan’s military establishment. So much so, that reports suggest Pakistan is considering relocating its military headquarters from Rawalpindi to Islamabad amid fears of future attacks.

The international community has taken note. Defense analysts have praised the operation for its surgical accuracy and operational efficiency, recognizing India’s evolving prowess in modern warfare.

Operation Sindoor has thus become a landmark in India’s military history — a show of force that left a strategic dent in Pakistan’s defenses, sent a geopolitical message, and redefined India’s defense posture in the region.
