Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the fear of terrorists in Kashmir has almost completely ended.
Compared to Srinagar, more industrial units have been set up in Pulwama. The fear of terrorists and the entire network that supported them has almost completely disappeared.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the fear of terrorists and the entire network supporting them has almost completely ended in the Kashmir Valley. He also noted that areas like Pulwama, which once made headlines for the wrong reasons, are now attracting more industries than Srinagar.
Addressing members of the Indian Chamber of Commerce on Saturday evening, Sinha said that so far this year, there has been only one case in Kashmir where a local individual joined terrorist ranks.
He further said, “Districts like Anantnag and Pulwama in the Kashmir Valley are witnessing investments. More industrial units have been set up in Pulwama than in Srinagar. The fear of terrorists and those aiding them has nearly disappeared.”
Highlighting the change in the region, Sinha mentioned that Pulwama—once in the news for negative reasons—saw massive youth participation during the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign rallies. “Thousands of young people carried the Indian tricolour, and the world witnessed it. There were villages in Shopian and Pulwama where earlier neither police nor government officials would enter. Today, even people from those villages are taking part in these initiatives,” he said.
