If Hamas Keeps Killing, We’ll Have No Choice but to Go In and Finish Them,” Trump Warns
Former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a blunt warning on Thursday, saying that if Hamas continues killing people in Gaza, the United States would have “no choice” but to go in and eliminate them. His strong reaction followed the circulation of several videos on social media that appear to show Hamas fighters killing members of rival groups inside Gaza.
In a post on his social platform, Trump wrote: “If Hamas kept killing people in Gaza — which was not part of the deal — we would have no choice but to go in and kill them.” He later told reporters that if the bloodletting in Gaza continues, “we would be forced to go in and finish them,” but clarified that America would not be sending U.S. troops into Gaza.
Trump added that while the U.S. itself would not undertake the operation, “there are people close to us who would do this job very easily, but under our supervision.” Earlier he had described Hamas as having eliminated “some very bad gangs” and claimed many gang members were killed, saying the developments “didn’t affect me much.” He did not, however, explain how he would carry out the threat, and the White House made no official comment.
Trump stressed his patience was limited over reports of Hamas killing rival factions in Gaza, warning they must disarm or be disarmed: “They’ll have to lay down their weapons, otherwise we will disarm them — and that will be swift and possibly violent.”
Hamas has governed Gaza for about 18 years and previously maintained strict internal policing, but Israeli strikes and occupation in recent months have weakened its grip. Local armed gangs and Israel-backed groups have been accused of looting and selling humanitarian aid, contributing to the chaos described by Trump.
