Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Inaugurates ‘Jan Seva Sadan’, Opens Doors of Chief Minister’s Residence to the Public
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a new camp office at the official CM residence. The inauguration ceremony of the Delhi Chief Minister’s camp office, located on Raj Niwas Marg, included a havan (ritual) and traditional prayers.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra said, “Today, we are inaugurating the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan (Public Service Center). This facility has been set up to listen to the grievances of the people. After 11 years, the Chief Minister’s residence or office in Delhi is being opened to the public. In the past 11 years, neither media nor any MLA or minister was allowed to bring cameras inside. The entire Jan Seva Sadan has been constructed on a budget lower than the cost of the curtains used in Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’. Its tender was made public. Those who hid for 11 years are now avoiding the spotlight, while a CM who has nothing to hide has opened every door of her office to the people.”
Minister Kapil Mishra praised the inauguration on Friday, emphasizing that its cost is “less than that of the curtains used in Arvind Kejriwal’s palace-like residence.” He added that Jan Seva Sadan is now open to cameras and media personnel so they can witness the arrangements made for the public.
Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, V.K. Saxena, congratulated Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on the inauguration of the Jan Seva Kendra at her residence. He said, “This reflects the CM’s commitment to the public and their issues. Moving forward, many of Delhi’s problems will be resolved from this very space. This is a simple home that has been converted into an office.”
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa remarked, “Earlier Chief Ministers built palaces and kept the public out. But our CM has inaugurated a public service center. The Jan Seva Kendra has been created to give people access to the CM’s residence.”
Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said, “It’s a matter of great happiness. The Chief Minister has set up a center to hear public grievances, and today it has been formally inaugurated. I extend my best wishes.”
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari added, “I want to repeatedly thank CM Rekha Gupta for transforming the Chief Minister’s residence into Jan Seva Sadan. Previously, it was a ‘Sheesh Mahal’ where cameras were banned under the AAP government. Now, this residence has been turned into a public service center.”
