PM Narendra Modi Departs for Israel, Pledges to Elevate Enduring Bilateral Ties
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday embarked on what is being described as a landmark two-day visit to Israel, reaffirming his commitment to take the long-standing relationship between the two nations to greater heights.
In his departure statement, Modi emphasized that the visit would mark a fresh chapter in the robust and multi-dimensional strategic partnership shared by India and Israel. He underlined his resolve to strengthen what he called the “enduring bonds” between the two countries and expand cooperation across a wide spectrum of sectors.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the trip would not only deepen bilateral engagement but also set ambitious new benchmarks for the future. He said the visit would help advance a shared vision of a resilient, innovative, and prosperous partnership.
Traveling at the invitation of his “dear friend,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Modi said he looks forward to substantive discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration in key areas such as science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defense and security, trade and investment, and people-to-people ties.
The agenda, he noted, reflects the broad and evolving nature of India–Israel relations, which have expanded significantly over the years.
Regional and Global Dialogue
Beyond bilateral cooperation, Modi indicated that he and Netanyahu would also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. The talks are expected to cover strategic and geopolitical issues shaping the broader international landscape.
During his stay, the Prime Minister will also meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog, further underscoring the high-level diplomatic engagement planned for the visit.
Address to the Knesset
A key highlight of the trip will be Modi’s address to the Knesset, making him the first Indian Prime Minister to speak before Israel’s parliament. He described the opportunity as a matter of pride and a tribute to the democratic values and strong parliamentary traditions that link the two nations.

Modi also expressed enthusiasm about interacting with members of the Indian community in Israel. He acknowledged their longstanding role in nurturing goodwill and reinforcing the friendship between the two countries.
