Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and shifting global dynamics, China has expressed a desire to strengthen its relationship with India. Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that India and China should see each other not as rivals, but as partners. He emphasized that both countries are not only neighbors but also key members of the “Global South” with intertwined interests.
Efforts to Enhance Relations
Wang Yi outlined four key principles for reshaping India–China relations:

The Foreign Minister stressed that division and conflict are not conducive to Asia’s development. He stated that mutual trust and cooperation between India and China are essential for shared growth. According to Wang Yi, relations between the two countries are returning to normal, and China seeks to make India a friend rather than an adversary.

Wang Yi also highlighted the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Tianjin, noting that both nations are committed to taking their cooperation to new heights.
