India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ Showcases Technological Superiority and Military Precision: Defense Ministry

The Ministry of Defence stated on Wednesday that “Operation Sindoor” showcased a significant increase in India’s defense and technological capabilities. The operation successfully carried out precise attacks on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan without crossing the border, highlighting India’s growing military strength. The ministry also revealed evidence of destruction of enemy technologies, including Chinese-made PL-15 missiles and Turkish “YIHA” drones.

In a major disclosure, the Indian government announced that the Indian Air Force had successfully jammed Pakistan’s Chinese-supplied air defense systems along the border and the Line of Control (LoC). The operation was completed in under 23 minutes, reflecting India’s technological superiority over a nation that sponsors terrorism.

The ministry’s press release delved into the operational details of Operation Sindoor, highlighting India’s response to a Pakistan-linked terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22, in which 26 civilians, mostly tourists, were killed. The release noted that the airstrike was India’s precise military response to asymmetric warfare, with the Pakistani military’s Chinese-supplied HQ-9 air defense system located near Lahore being neutralized.

China-Supplied Air Defense Systems Jammed

The press release explained how Indian drones and missiles proved highly successful during the operation, while Pakistan’s air defense systems failed to intercept them. The Indian Air Force managed to bypass and jam Pakistan’s Chinese-made air defense systems, completing the mission in just 23 minutes, showcasing India’s technological edge. The release further highlighted how India’s indigenous air defense systems performed exceptionally well during the operation.

The Indian Air Force neutralized several enemy technologies, including Chinese-made PL-15 missiles, Turkish “YIHA” UAVs, long-range rockets, quadcopters, and commercial drones sent by Pakistan, using Indian defense systems. The ministry displayed debris from these missiles, providing solid evidence of how India’s indigenous systems outperformed foreign-supplied weapons. The statement pointed out that despite Pakistan’s attempts to deploy advanced foreign-supplied weapons, India’s self-reliant defense and electronic warfare networks prevailed.

The ministry stated, “Operation Sindoor emerged as a well-planned military response to the emerging form of asymmetric warfare, where both military personnel and unarmed civilians are targeted.” It added, “The terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam in April highlighted this shift. India’s response was thoughtful, precise, and strategic.”

A Milestone in Self-Reliant Military Technology

In addition to demonstrating strategic excellence, the operation showcased the seamless integration of indigenous technological systems for national security. Whether it was drone warfare, air defense, or electronic warfare, “Operation Sindoor” marked a significant milestone in India’s journey toward achieving military technological self-sufficiency.

The ministry emphasized that India’s offensive actions precisely targeted crucial Pakistani Air Force bases such as Noor Khan and Rahim Yar Khan with surgical precision. It was revealed that advanced weapons, including “suicide drones,” were used to cause maximum destruction, selectively targeting high-value assets like enemy radar and missile systems.

The statement concluded, “The systems developed through consistent government investment over the past decade proved to be force-multiplying during Operation Sindoor.” It also stressed that these systems played a crucial role in ensuring that civilian and military infrastructure across India remained largely untouched during enemy counterattacks. All attacks were carried out without any damage to Indian weapons and systems, highlighting the effectiveness of India’s monitoring, planning, and delivery capabilities.

The ministry further noted that the use of modern indigenous technology, from long-range drones to guided weapons, made the attacks highly effective and politically measured.
