Iran-Israel Conflict: Global Tensions Rise Even Before U.S. Joins the Fight, Putin Calls Xi Jinping

The world is witnessing heightened diplomatic and strategic activity as tensions escalate between Iran and Israel — even before any direct involvement from the United States. In a significant development, Russian President Vladimir Putin placed a phone call to Chinese President Xi Jinping, signaling increased coordination between the two powers amid the growing crisis.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have agreed to work together on developments related to the Iran-Israel conflict, highlighting their growing strategic coordination. The Kremlin confirmed that both leaders have instructed their respective agencies to exchange information regarding the situation. Putin and Xi Jinping reached this consensus during a one-hour conversation focused on Iran.

According to Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov, the two leaders held an extensive hour-long phone call during which they agreed to share sensitive intelligence related to Iran. Ushakov stated that Presidents Putin and Xi Jinping agreed to direct their agencies to coordinate and exchange information on Iran. The leaders also expressed a unified stance on the conflict, with both Russia and China condemning Israel’s recent military actions. They described these actions as violations of the UN Charter and international legal norms.

Russia and the United Arab Emirates jointly called for an immediate end to hostilities between Israel and Iran. Both nations emphasized the urgent need to resume diplomatic dialogue and accelerate efforts to resolve the long-standing issues related to Iran’s nuclear program. President Putin reportedly discussed the matter with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a phone call, during which he stressed the importance of a political solution to prevent further escalation.
