AAP Row Escalates: Raghav Chadha Issues Strong Response Through Video
After the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused him of engaging in “soft PR,” MP Raghav Chadha responded by releasing a video compilation titled “Mere Do Minute” (My Two Minutes) featuring excerpts from his speeches in the Rajya Sabha.
Raghav Chadha Releases New Video Compilation Amid ‘Soft PR’ Allegations
Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, who has been facing criticism from his own party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), for allegedly focusing on issues such as the price of samosas instead of serious democratic concerns, released a new video compilation of his parliamentary interventions on Friday. The video quickly sparked a wave of reactions on X (formerly Twitter), with users sharing memes—some mocking him for raising seemingly trivial issues, while others praised him as a voice for the middle class.
Posted shortly after 5 PM on April 3, the video marks Chadha’s third response since he was removed from the position of Deputy Leader of AAP in the Rajya Sabha. The 2-minute-40-second video, titled “Mere Do Minute” (My Two Minutes), was shared on X without any caption except for an Indian national flag emoji.
The video opens with a slow-motion shot of Chadha walking into Parliament, followed by clips of him speaking on a range of issues in the Rajya Sabha.
In the first clip from parliamentary proceedings, Chadha is heard saying,
“I am not ashamed to say that in India we pay taxes like in England but receive services like in Somalia.”
Another notable moment in the compilation shows him demanding the Right to Recall. The video also features excerpts from his speeches on several national issues, including rising inflation without a proportional increase in income, concerns over duopoly in India’s aviation sector, and the need to reform taxation systems.
Significantly, the video also highlights issues related to Punjab, the state governed by AAP and which Chadha represents in Parliament. Earlier in the day, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had criticized him for not raising relevant issues concerning the state.
In response, the new compilation includes clips where Chadha speaks about the “Cancer Train” that runs from Bathinda in Punjab to Bikaner in Rajasthan, as well as concerns regarding water quality and availability in Punjab.
Additionally, the video features a portion of his speech demanding that freedom fighter Bhagat Singh be awarded the Bharat Ratna. In an earlier video, Chadha had also addressed several other topics, including allegations that farmers were being blamed for pollution.
