Voting Concludes in Kerala and Assam; High Turnout Raises Political Tension Ahead of Assam Election Results 2026
With over 84% voter turnout in Assam and nearly 80% in the Tripura by-elections, the electoral process has concluded, reflecting strong voter enthusiasm. This surge in participation has heightened political anticipation, with all eyes now on the results that could shape the country’s political direction.
Voting concluded peacefully across several key states in India, including Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry, with polling officially ending at 6 PM on Thursday. However, voters who were present at polling stations before the deadline were allowed to cast their votes after being issued tokens.
According to available information, voting across all 140 विधानसभा seats in Kerala was completed on time, although long queues were seen at many polling booths until the evening. As per the Election Commission’s guidelines, all voters standing in line before 6 PM were given the opportunity to vote.
In Assam, the polling process also remained smooth, with an impressive voter turnout of around 84.42%, higher than the previous election. This increase reflects strong voter participation and growing public engagement, making the upcoming Assam Election Results 2026 highly anticipated.
Meanwhile, the by-election in Tripura’s Dharmanagar constituency recorded nearly 79.84% voting. Officials confirmed that the polling remained peaceful, with tight security arrangements in place as voters turned up in large numbers from early morning.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions in some regions, voter enthusiasm remained high. Long queues were visible at several polling centers throughout the day, highlighting increasing awareness and commitment towards the democratic process.
In West Bengal, political rhetoric intensified amid the election atmosphere. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP attempted to influence the elections by removing lakhs of names from the voter list. She stated that her party would approach the court and demand restoration of the deleted names.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public rally in Haldia, West Bengal, said that the massive public turnout signals a desire for change in the state. Referring to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, he appealed to the people for their support.
