PM Modi Hails India–US Interim Trade Agreement as a Turning Point for Economic Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described the interim trade agreement between India and the United States as a historic milestone in India’s economic journey. Expressing strong optimism, the Prime Minister said the agreement would not only ease trade barriers but also bring meaningful improvements to the lives of grassroots entrepreneurs, workers, and producers across the country.

According to PM Modi, the interim pact with the US is set to strengthen the “Make in India” initiative by opening new avenues for farmers and entrepreneurs, while also generating large-scale employment opportunities for women and young people. He also expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his personal commitment to strengthening the India–US relationship.

Sharing his thoughts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister called the development “very good news” for both countries. He said that India and the United States have agreed on a framework for an interim trade agreement, which reflects the growing depth, trust, and momentum in the bilateral partnership.

He noted that increased economic activity driven by the agreement would lead to substantial job creation, particularly benefiting women and youth.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that India and the US remain committed to promoting innovation, and said the agreement would further deepen cooperation in investment and technology. In addition, he pointed out that the framework aims to strengthen resilient and reliable supply chains, contributing to global economic growth.

As India moves steadily toward the goal of becoming a developed nation, PM Modi said the country is focused on building forward-looking global partnerships that empower people and foster shared prosperity. He emphasized that such collaborations are essential for shaping a sustainable and inclusive economic future for both nations.
