Trump’s Ties to Pakistan’s Crypto Deal Raise Questions Over His Growing Affection for the Country
The reason behind U.S. President Donald Trump’s growing affection for Pakistan has now been exposed. Trump, who has been frequently comparing India’s Prime Minister to Pakistan’s Prime Minister – the latter being a country that can’t survive a single day without borrowing – is now at the center of a significant revelation. It has been revealed that Pakistan has entered into a deal with a cryptocurrency company named World Liberty Financial (WLF), where 60% of the shares are owned by Trump’s family. This deal was made between WLF and the newly established Pakistan Crypto Council, which aims to turn Islamabad into Asia’s cryptocurrency hub.
Trump’s Growing Affection for Pakistan Exposed Through Crypto Deal Links
Interestingly, Pakistan appointed Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, as an advisor to the council last month. CZ, born in China and a Canadian entrepreneur, has been linked to this new project despite the fact that the Pakistan Crypto Council is barely a month old. Shortly after this announcement, WLF sent its top representatives, including Zachary Witkoff, the son of Steve Witkoff – Trump’s golf partner. Zachary Witkoff’s visit to Pakistan was marked by a grand reception from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir. Just days after this meeting, General Munir made a controversial speech, and soon after, the “religiously motivated mass killings” of tourists in Pahalgam took place.
What adds another layer to the situation is that Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., are major stakeholders in WLF, and they, along with their brother-in-law Jared Kushner, are known for seeking lucrative global business deals, while facing allegations of using their ties to the White House for personal gain. Steve Witkoff, a close friend of Trump, is also a New York-based real estate billionaire and is considered one of the most influential people in Washington D.C. Witkoff gained international attention when he facilitated the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel, the UAE, and Bahrain during Trump’s first term. Now, Trump has entrusted him with the task of mediating a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.
Given this growing web of connections, many are left wondering if Pakistan’s partnership with WLF in the cryptocurrency space is already yielding results, particularly as Trump positions himself as a mediator in the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict.
