Missile Attack on U.S. Base in Saudi Arabia Injures 10 American Soldiers, Explosions Rock Area

Satellite images showing damage to aircraft were later posted online. The attack reportedly involved the use of Iranian missiles and unmanned drones. The strike occurred just a day after Donald Trump declared Iran to be “completely destroyed,” and U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that “never in history has a nation’s military been neutralized so quickly and so effectively.”

Amid escalating conflict in West Asia, at least 10 American soldiers were injured on Friday after a missile strike allegedly carried out by Iran targeted a military base in Saudi Arabia. Several aircraft were also damaged in the attack, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the situation. One of the officials said that two of the injured soldiers are in serious condition. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the military matter.

According to the United States Central Command, more than 300 military personnel have been wounded during the month-long conflict in the region. While most of the injured have recovered and returned to duty, around 30 remain out of service, including 10 who are seriously wounded.

This is not the first time the Prince Sultan Air Base has been targeted. U.S. Army Sergeant Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, was injured during an attack on the base on March 1 and died several days later from his injuries. He was among the 13 military personnel who have lost their lives in the conflict so far.

The attack was earlier reported by The Wall Street Journal.
